What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the scientific study of human behavior. ABA examines the environment and its influence on human behavior. It's pretty simple; if you can observe it, you can change it!

What is a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)?
An FBA is a plan outlining an assessment of your child's strengths and an analysis of your child's present behavior concerns (behaviors or reduction-aggression, noncompliance, screaming) and skill deficits (skills to be worked on improving). Skill-building can involve teaching basic skills such as eye contact, waiting, and imitation or include more complex skills such as engaging in conversations or reading. Functional Behavior Assessments and goal setting are specific to each child's particular needs. A good FBA has measurable goals for therapy and includes recommendations for changes to the environment to set them up for success along the way.
